UNASIS thin-section bearings are used in the majority of robot joints because of their high rigidity, space saving, and low mass capabilities. UNASIS slewing rings form the bases – and basis – of the rotation function of many robots. Thin-section bearings are light in weight, meaning less mass and reduced inertia within robot applications.
UNASIS thin-section bearings for robotics applications do not increase with the ore diameter, whilst providing precise strength, durability, and stiffness. The bearings are available in radial, angular, and four-point configurations. The four-point configuration is incredibly adept at handling a combination of thrust, radial, and overturning moment loads, making a thin-section bearing from UNASIS a perfect replacement for a pair of larger heavier angular bearings. These bearings allow designers to further simplify design as well as reducing physical size and weight whilst simultaneously increasing performance, longevity, and precision. Cables can be routed through the centre bore of UNASIS lightweight thin-section bearings.
UNASIS also offer non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant, high-temperature, and ultra-high-vacuum compatible bearing for robotic applications and mechanisms that require more specialist materials or arrangements.
